Beats, Gigs and Summer Vibes

Hi everyone!
Welcome to my very first blog post on my new site – thanks for checking it out!

I’m super excited to start sharing everything I’m up to, from gigs and festivals to cool music stuff I get involved in. There’s loads coming up, but first, here’s a bit about me.

About Me – Why I Love Drumming and Music

Music has always been a huge part of my life. Drumming, especially, is something I absolutely love, not just because it’s fun, but because it’s what I want to do in the future. It gives me a rush like nothing else.

As well as drums, I play guitar and piano, and I’m hoping to pick up bass soon too. I enjoy experimenting with different instruments and creating music whenever I can. Whether it’s jamming with others or playing around with ideas at home, music is just something I never get tired of.

What I’ve Been Up to This Summer

This summer’s been amazing so far! One of the highlights was going to Pohoda Festival in Slovakia. I got to see some incredible acts like Africa Express (with Damon Albarn and loads of other brilliant artists), The Kills, Fontaines D.C., and Minyo Crusaders. All of whom were phenomenal.

On the final day, I saw the shirtless legend himself… Iggy Pop, followed by a rocking set from Queens of the Stone Age.

It was a festival that I won’t forget!

What’s Coming Up

There’s more music around the corner – and I couldn’t be more excited.

First up is Summer Rock School 2025 in Leeds, UK. I’ll be there for two weeks. In the first week, I’ll be going solo, and in the second, I’ll be joined by my twin sister, which will be a lot of fun.

Then I’m off to Deer Shed Festival in Yorkshire. I’ll be checking out some great acts there too, including Honeyglaze, Wunderhorse, Big Special, and Joan as a Police Woman.

Why I Love Rock School

Rock School is one of the best experiences for any young musician. You get to meet loads of like-minded people and make new friends, and the whole thing gives you a real taste of what it's like to be in a band.

You get to record your own music, try out loads of instruments in a proper studio, and learn how to work together with other musicians. But the absolute best part? The live performances on the final Saturday at the Wardrobe in Leeds! There’s a full stage set-up, you can grab some merch or a drink, and just enjoy the show with everyone who’s been working hard all week.

Thanks for reading. More posts will be coming soon! I’ll be sharing updates, reviews, and behind-the-scenes bits from gigs, Rock School, and more. Stick around!

Spencer
