About Spencer
Spencer Preston is a British drummer, performer and aspiring professional musician based in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Spencer Preston is a young British drummer currently living in Vilnius, Lithuania. Born in Leicester in 2010 alongside his twin sister, Spencer grew up in a family of teachers and discovered his love of rhythm almost as soon as he could walk. Long before he owned a drum kit, he was tapping on tables, furniture and anything else he could find, earning himself the family nickname "Mr Bump."
At the age of four, Spencer moved with his family to Jordan before relocating two years later to Guangzhou, China. It was there that he began formal drum lessons just before the Covid-19 pandemic. While lockdown was challenging for many, the extra time at home gave Spencer countless hours behind his electronic drum kit, helping him develop his technique and passion for the instrument.
In 2020, Spencer moved to Vilnius, Lithuania, where his musical journey really gathered momentum. He joined Ritmo studija Drumblys and has studied under the guidance of Žilvinas Mikulėnas, developing into a confident and versatile young drummer.
Spencer has performed at numerous school concerts and talent shows, competed in the Drum Day Junior competition, played at Street Music Day in Vilnius, and represented his school at the COBIS Music Festival in Qatar. He also enjoys performing with his band, Paper Fox, where he plays drums alongside his twin sister on bass.
Away from home, Spencer is committed to developing his musicianship. He attended the Open-Minded Drumming Camp in Poland in 2024 and regularly takes part in the Rock School Music Camp in Leeds, learning from professional musicians and performing with other young artists from around the world.
Influenced by rock, indie and alternative music, Spencer loves the energy of live performance and is continually challenging himself as both a musician and performer. His ambition is simple: to build a career as a professional drummer and share his passion for music with audiences everywhere.
